I don’t use this tumblr for much personal stuff but I thought I’d update it a bit, since I mentioned I’m going into surgery tomorrow morning on twitter. I’m a little jittery so I will type about it until I calm down and try to sleep.

I didn’t mention whether or not I’d make it available online. Once a year, I’ve made all my books available for a week, I’ll make an announcement next time I do that here for those interested!

Again, probably not for a while. If for some reason I can, I’ll advertise it pretty heavily though so people won’t miss out on a chance to order. I’m really flattered by the interest!

If anyone is going that would like to pick up copies at the con and send them out to people, I can certainly make arrangements to accommodate that. But otherwise it’s something I tend to sell only at Sakuracon or once a year online.

I am doing lots of chores today in my recently renovated bedroom, and need something to distract myself with while I wait on laundry. So here we go! Post the according symbol in my ask, and see what pops out. EXCITING! Maybe I’ll even draw a doodle to answer it with!

I don’t generally use this blog for personal updates very often, but I figured it’d be nice to update people on my condition at least a few times a year.

So I’m back and at the computer only a few hours after having been under the knife. It’s the fastest recovery time I’ve ever had regarding any surgery, and trust me I’ve had plenty of those!

I’m groggy from pain meds so bear with me.

Basically, I normally have this tube in my stomach called a Peritoneal Catheter. After having several of them over the course of a year, I realized they weren’t working as nicely as they should. Most of this was caused by a the layer of fat located beneath my belly button where it was located. It was uncomfortable, got infected easily, and was really painful after a while. It’s like every week there was a new problem with it.

So after a few days of research, I found an alternative - Presternal Catheters.

This catheter is the same concept, only it sprouts out from the middle of my chest, the flat area just beneath my collarbone. The rates of infection are less, and there’s great perks as well, such as being able to wear pants (I was only wearing skirts), being able to take a bath, and wading in swimming pools for exercise. It’s an option thats just better for patients with belly fat in general, or who have skin issues like I do.

I didn’t think I’d be at my computer within a week after this surgery, and here I am typing this up just hours after. It went ridiculously well, so fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong with it!
